Amy grew up dancing in Kansas City, and went on to compete around the country for over 10 years at Dance Xcel in Olathe, Kansas. She has worked with choreographers such as Sonya Tayeh, Joy Spears, Anthony Russo, Zandra Thomas, Ricci Milan, and many more. She has been the resident choreographer for Sound Alive Show Choir, the Har-Ber High School Theatre Program and Ramay Middle School Dance Team. She is well-versed in Ballet, Tap, Jazz, and Contemporary, and has been teaching dancers of all ages and levels for the past eight years. Amy is a certified Zumba instructor, and RYT-200 Yoga Instructor. She is also a trained life coach, with an emphasis in performance mindset, with the hopes of building strong, well rounded, confident dancers and performers. ⠀
Amy will be teaching all levels of Tap, Mom’s Yoga & Stretch, all levels of Combo & Technique classes. She will also be working with our Company dancers. ⠀

Maggie is a native of Kansas City. She attended Kansas City Ballet School from age 8 to 18, performing in the company's Nutcracker productions and eventually dancing alongside the corps de ballet in high school. At age 16 she was selected as KCB's student trainee and performed company works such as George Balanchine's Serenade and Victoria Morgan's Cinderella. She continued her education at Indiana University Ballet Theater on merit scholarship, where she performed notable works such as Twyla Tharps' As Time Goes By, George Balanchine's Rubies, and Merce Cunningham's Duets. She graduated in 2017 with a Bachelor of Science in Ballet with an Outside Field in Arts Management. She joined Kansas City based performance group Quixotic in summer of 2017 and has traveled nationally and internationally with the group. In addition to continuing ballet, she now performs aerial harness and fire dancing.⠀
Maggie will be teaching Gold, Diamond, Platinum, & Sapphire Classical Ballet, Pre-Pointe, Pointe I, and Pointe II. ⠀
Tristian Griffin, a native of Kansas City, MO, graduated from Texas Christian University, in 2014, receiving his BFA in Ballet with an English minor. Following graduation, he joined Garth Fagan Dance Company for 3 years. More recently, he was given the opportunity to perform with the Metropolitan Opera House, the Lyric Opera of Kansas City, Company E, Springboard Danse Montreal, Wylliams-Henry Contemporary Dance Company (WHCDC), and Owen/Cox Dance Group. Throughout Tristian's career, he has danced works by William Forsythe, Ronald K. Brown, Ohad Naharin, Gregory Dawson, Christian Von Howard, Alex Ketley, and Gerald Arpino. Aside from dancing professionally, he has also taught in various settings including classes through Em's Spotlight, H.A.L.O. (Helping Art Liberate Orphans) Foundation, and Kansas City’s Friends of Alvin Ailey for underprivileged children at several Kansas City's community centers. While freelancing, Tristian discovered his passion for choreography and his latest creation, “Palimpsest: Performance Series", was commissioned by Charolette Street Foundation, ArtsKC, and The Nelson-Atkins Museum. Gaining momentum, Tristian started his own dance company, Tristian Griffin Dance Company. The company was commissioned by American Jazz Museum (Kansas City), International Dance Festival (Philadelphia), Kansas City Ballet School, InterUrban ArtHouse, and WHCDC. He was selected as tenure for the Charlotte Street Foundation and Friends of Alvin Ailey Artist-in-Residency program.
Rafael will be teaching Gold, Diamond, Platinum, and Sapphire Contemporary Ballet.
Katelyn is from Shawnee, KS. She is a cum laude graduate of Oklahoma City University with a BPA in Dance Performance. She has worked professionally in a wide range of outlets since the age of 14. Some of her local experience includes various industrials, Starlight Theater, and The KC Symphony. While at OCU, she was a member of The American Spirit Dance Company and had the pleasure of not only performing in Home for the Holidays repeatedly, but also representing The ASDC on their Taiwan Tour: “Friendship Through Dance”. Katelyn has worked for Cedar Fair through both RWS Entertainment and Fancy Pants Productions. She was able to travel the world multiple times over during her 9 years at sea, as well as collaborate with ABC’s “Dancing with the Stars At Sea” while working for Stiletto Entertainment and Holland America Line. She spends her weekends traveling with Tremaine Dance Conventions and Competitions as an administrative Assistant for Mr. Joe Tremaine. She enjoys being immersed in a dance environment and loves working with dancers to help them grow and achieve their goals.
Katelyn will be teaching Platinum/Sapphire Musical Theater, as well as working with our Company Dancers.
Jillian grew up in Concordia, KS. She started taking dance at age 3, and gymnastics at age 5. She was a competitive gymnast as well as a dancer and went on to coach younger classes while in high school. She has been teaching children dance and tumbling for over 15 years. While in Undergraduate School, Jillian was also fortunate enough to participate on both the Junior Varsity and Varsity K-State Cheer Squads. Recently, she has become passionate about Acro Dance, Flexibility, and Contortion, and is a certified Acrobatic Arts Instructor. When not at the studio, Jillian works part time as a pediatric and adult nurse practitioner.
Jillian will be teaching Silver, Gold, Diamond, and Platinum/Sapphire Acro, as well as working with our Compant dancers.
Shelley danced the part of a white poodle in her first ballet recital at age six and has been on stage ever since. Her training in dance, theatre, and pantomime kept her performing in community and professional theatre until earning her degrees in Theatre and Speech Communication.
Shelley is certified with DVIDA and has taught Ballroom and Country Dance for over 25 years, competing professionally in the NDCA American Rhythm division and currently competing Pro/Am with her students in Ballroom and Country. She has earned numerous Top Teacher awards and Pro-Pro National title with the ACDA.
While studying the latest dance trends, Shelley especially enjoys teaching her expressive style to children, youth, men and women. She also coaches and judges Country and Ballroom competitions.
Shelley will be teaching Gold, Diamond, and Platinum Ballroom this year.
